US Open of Surfing

Today I went down to the Beach for the US Open of surfing, (The worlds largest surf competition) and had a great time watching the festivities. Heather went up to Bakersfield for the weekend to hang out with the family while I stayed in town to shoot Laura and Dave Garner's wedding. Overall the weekend went really well with the wedding and the US Open combo. The only think i noticed is that I didnt get any photos of the surfing, I just shot some of the other events going on. Here are some of the images I captured from the US Open.

Lake Elsinore

Yesterday Heather and I got invited to go boating with some friends of ours. We went to lake Elsinore which is about 45 mins away. What a great lake other than the greenish water. It used to be a really dirty lake but has cleaned up quite a bit since the 80's. I didnt seem to care much. The water was about 85 degrees because it was probably only 14 feet deep at its deepest. We had a great time and here are some of the images from our little trip.

Independance Day

Well we had another successful 4th of July down here in our part of the country. We had Heathers family stay with us the night before so we could enjoy the whole day at the beach. We had six of us here in our little apartment. Steven and Bree, (Heathers siblings) tried to reserve a fire pit at the beach on the fourth and got there at 5:30am and all the pits were taken. We missed out this year on that, but we did get a nice spot right by the pier where we enjoyed the beach and the fireworks. I started the morning off with the famous Huntington Beach 5k fun run with some of my friends. We had another great time as you can see by the picture. We have done this for the last 3 years and we just have a blast doing it. I just need to get Heather to do it with us with a group of girls. We got the best looks and some great laughs from people.
